On July 1, 2021, Dr. Kayse Shrum became the first female president of Oklahoma State University.  Prior to this groundbreaking achievement, Dr. Shrum served as President of OSU Center of Health Sciences, was a practicing pediatrician, and an accomplished athlete. The COVID-19 vaccine was made available to adults in December 2020. Vaccination rates in Oklahoma started out strong, but quickly slowed. As of the end July of July, only 40% of Oklahomans are fully vaccinated.
